    could anyone tell me how to rip my vcd`s back to my hard drive. what software to use, etc....

    try vcdgear, its a great program to rip vcd back to hd.

    Copy the .dat file back to your hard drive, you can then use it with any of the programs without doing anything to it, or re-author to make a new VCD

    TMPGEnc, Vdub, Nero etc all load .dat files
